Mazzetto Almonds
Organic
Tunisia
Whole, unshelled almonds of the high-quality Mazzetto variety. Originally from Italy, this variety produces large, beautifully shaped kernels with a hint of sweetness in the flavour. Enjoy these almonds on their own or use them for pastries, in muesli or for cooking. Mazzetto almonds come from family farmers in north-west Tunisia. Skaya, the company that processes and exports them, was created in close cooperation with gebana.

BACHREDINE SAYHI
FARMER FROM SFAYA, TUNISIA
Being a farmer was my life before it was my profession.
"I grew up in the countryside and it was natural for me to take over my parents’ farm," says Bachredine Sayhi. You can find everything on his estate in the Thala mountain region: from oats and plums to pistachios. He also has sheep and goats. "We are currently preparing to switch to livestock farming, but it's not easy because we have to produce so much organic feed for the animals every year! Traditional farming has taught us to work with nature. That's why we joined our neighbour and are now organic farmers"
