Brazil Nuts
Brazil
These Brazil nuts are foraged on the edge of the Amazon rainforest in the Mato Grosso region. The Coopavam cooperative brings together four indigenous tribes and family farmers from eight settlements on the edge of the forest. The nuts are processed locally. The cooperative creates local income, counteracts deforestation and promotes sustainable development.
Due to an administrative error, these nuts are not officially certified organic. However, they still meet organic quality standards, as the Brazil nuts come exclusively from wild harvesting and no pesticides, fertilisers or other chemicals are used.

Storage & shelf life
Store nuts and seeds in a cool, dark place in a tightly closed container. Make sure that the container is as airtight as possible so that moisture is kept away from the nuts. You can also freeze nuts and seeds, which will extend their shelf life by several months.
