Use & preparation

Cashews have a wide range of uses: You can enjoy them pure or roasted, or you can soak them and use them in sweet or savoury dishes for a creamy consistency.
Cashews are also great for baking, such as these cookies.

Storage & shelf life

Store nuts and seeds in a cool, dark place in a tightly closed container. Make sure that the container is as airtight as possible so that moisture is kept away from the nuts. You can also freeze nuts and seeds, which will extend their shelf life by several months.

J’attends impatiemment l’époque de la récolte des noix de cajou !

"Pour l’instant, je ne cultive que des noix de cajou sur un hectare. Je n’ai pas d’autres sources de revenus", explique Coulibaly Ana Wariba. "À l’avenir, j’aimerais acquérir des terres afin de diversifier mes cultures et de préserver ma famille de la faim". L’agricultrice préfère s’occuper de plantes : "Labourer les champs m’est trop pénible – même avec l’aide d’employés ! C’est bien plus amusant de planter des arbres ou de faire la récolte."
