1’000 new jobs in Burkina Faso
We’re currently investing in a new factory in Burkina Faso, where we plan to process cashews and dried mangos and prepare fresh mangos for export to Europe. This will create 1’000 new jobs and provide market access for 5’000 family farmers, creating important revenue in one of the poorest countries in the world. It’s a big step for us and for our customers – through our crowdfunding project, 2'082 people have contributed a total of €960'569 to the building. This was an important milestone in securing additional funding.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to take place at the end of the year, and we plan to process the first cashews in our new factory by summer 2024.
We share
There are many ways to make trade fairer. Sharing is a very effective way of doing so. Sharing is a driver of radical systemic change and is also good for the economy. We put this principle into practice in a very simple way: Family farmers who supply us directly with products receive 10% of the sales price of their products in our online shop. They receive this in addition to the organic and fair purchase price.
