Avocados
Organic
Kenya
Fresh avocados of the Hass variety from multiple regions north of Nairobi. The family farmers who grow them do not irrigate their fields – a rarity in avocado cultivation.
Avocados are among the fruits that continue to ripen after being harvested. You will find instructions on how to ripen the still-hard fruit in your delivery as well as here on this page under storage and shelf life.
This product is only available for delivery to the following countries:
- Germany
- Austria
- The Netherlands
Note on transport in 2025: Since we were unable to find a shipping company to transport the avocados from Kenya to Europe via the Suez Canal route, we are flying the fruit in. The alternative route around the Cape of Good Hope is too long, and the avocados would spoil during transit. We will offset the CO2 generated by the flight through a project at our new factory in Burkina Faso. More details will follow soon.
How much is that?

Background
Avocados without artificial irrigation
Following a successful test phase in 2023, we're now sourcing avocados from Kenya. The East African country came into consideration due to concerns about water.
