Ground hazelnuts
Organic
Georgia
Roasted, ground hazelnuts from the Samegrelo region in western Georgia. Our partner Pakka sources the nuts directly from 800 family farmers in the Samegrelo-Zemosvaneti and Kakheti regions of Georgia. Pakka cracks, shells, roasts, and grinds the nuts entirely locally, creating jobs and generating income in the region.
Pakka also supports family farmers with knowledge and technical expertise in organic farming. Using demonstration fields, they show farmers how to improve soil nutrient content and promote overall soil regeneration.
The ground hazelnuts from Georgia are ideal for baking and cooking. Please follow the storage instructions carefully, as hazelnuts generally have a short shelf life, and ground hazelnuts spoil even more quickly.

Background

Are nuts a superfood or a problem for the environment?
Walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews – nuts can be part of a healthy and climate-friendly diet. But despite their low carbon footprint, they have been criticised for their impact on the environment and social responsibility – in many cases, rightly so.
