House Blend Espresso
Organic
Mexico / Peru
Dark roast arabica beans. 70% of the coffee beans come from farming families in Mexico, and the other 30% is from Peru. The beans are roasted weekly so that you always get fresh quality. Aroma: nutty, chocolatey. Flavour: fruity, marzipan, honey, low acidity.
Storage & shelf life
Store the coffee beans in an airtight container. A porcelain or ceramic container is ideal, but a plastic container will also work well. Store the container in a cool, dark and dry place. If possible, use up the beans within 2 to 6 weeks of receiving them. Only grind enough beans for the coffee you want to brew right away.

MARCOS VASQUEZ GUTIERREZ
FARMER FROM SAN JUAN DIEGO X-OYEP, CHIAPAS, MEXICO
I get a better price for organic coffee.
"I share a house with my parents and nine children," says Marcos Vasquez Gutierrez. "Two of my adult sons also work for our cooperative Maya Vinic, which makes me proud." The farmer sells coffee, honey and some macadamia nuts. "But there are a lot of mouths to feed, so I also grow maize, beans and bananas on my 3.5 hectares of land, and keep chickens," he explains. "I used to grow citrus fruits too. But for the past three years, we've really been feeling the effects of climate change. It's just too hot and dry for these plants now."
