Honey Cashews
Organic
Burkina Faso
Cashews coated with honey, sugar and cinnamon. The sweet coating makes these kernels a fine accompaniment to tea and coffee.
Storage & shelf life
Store nuts and seeds in a cool, dark place in a tightly closed container. Make sure that the container is as airtight as possible so that moisture is kept away from the nuts. You can also freeze nuts and seeds, which will extend their shelf life by several months.

COULIBALY SALAMATA ELISABETH
FARMER FROM TAGA, BURKINA FASO
If I had more land, I would raise bees.
"If I had to change my profession, I would become a poultry farmer," says Coulibaly Salamata Elisabeth. "But growing cashew nuts has a promising future." The farmer enjoys tending her trees and ploughing fields, she says. "However, I would like help enrich my land with as many crops as possible. Then I would plant mango trees, for example, and increase my cashew production. Because I have eight children and that's a lot of mouths to feed."
Background
Cashews without detours
We process our cashews where they grow: in Burkina Faso. Unfortunately, this is a rarity in the global trade in these tasty kernels.
