White grapes
Organic
Greece
Available for pre-order from: Spring
White, seedless Sultana grapes from the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece. Sultanas are one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties in the world. People have been growing them since ancient times. These grapes are sweet and juicy but are smaller than conventionally grown fruit.
How much is that?
5 kilos is approximately 6 bags, each bag containing 1-2 bunches.
Storage & shelf life
Grapes will keep for 10 to 15 days in the refrigerator and about 4 to 5 days at room temperature. Check your grapes for ripeness as soon as you receive them. Eat the softer ones first, along with any that have small cracks. If you find mould, remove the affected fruit so that the mould does not spread to the entire bunch. Wash the grapes well before eating.
GIANNIS KOLLIAS
FARMER FROM ATHIKA, GREECE
Weather fluctuations can throw me off track.
"I come from a family of farmers, and I love this job. When I work outside, my head clears and I can relax - despite the hard physical work," says Giannis Kollias. He lives with his wife and two children in the Corinthia region on the Peloponnese peninsula. Besides organic grapes, he grows olives on about 8 hectares. "As a trained agronomist, I am against the use of synthetic products. In addition to farming, I work for an organic certification body."
